What Smart Mark does
It works on supported written-practice submissions inside a signed-in student account. The report can organise a main strength, a next step, a “Fix This First” item, useful content to add and an estimated level after marking.
What Smart Mark does not do
It does not issue an official NZQA grade, guarantee a result, or mark the public sample on this website. The public demonstration above contains no real student submission or fabricated performance result.
How to use the feedback
Start with the main strength and next step, then use “Fix This First” or the detailed improvement guidance. A Smart Mark feedback item can be added to the Mistake Bank for review, and the practice flow supports trying the question again.
Privacy and processing
The Smart Mark function requires an authenticated student and checks that the submission belongs to that student. When configured, it sends the answer and relevant marking context to the configured OpenAI API with API response storage disabled for that request, then stores the resulting Smart Mark feedback in Study Sorted for the student account.
Launch disclosure: current provider processing, retention and model-training details are published through the reviewed Privacy Policy once the production configuration is confirmed.
