Practise → feedback → review

Write an answer. See what to fix.

On eligible written practice, Smart Mark organises feedback around what worked, what needs strengthening, useful missing content and the next improvement to make.

  • What worked — keep the strongest part of the response visible.
  • What needs strengthening — identify the highest-value gap.
  • Useful missing content — show what could be added when the marking material supports it.
  • The next improvement — turn feedback into a specific next attempt.
Smart Mark is a Study Sorted study aid, not an official NZQA grade.

Before you get started

A few useful answers.

What is Study Sorted?

Study Sorted is an NCEA study and revision platform. It connects structured course learning, recall, practice, feedback and revision tools around the subject, paper and topic you are studying.

Which subjects and levels are available?

The beta currently includes NCEA Level 2 and Level 3 Biology. Physics and Chemistry are coming soon. The public catalogue lists only courses approved for publication, and anything marked Coming soon is not available to purchase yet.

Can I try the resources without an account?

Yes. Published public samples can be used here without an account, email address or payment details. The amount of sample content is limited, but the questions and explanations are real course resources.

Does creating an account unlock every subject?

No. Creating an account and purchasing a package are separate steps. Paid access applies to the subjects and NCEA level included in the package you choose.

Is my sample written answer being marked by AI?

No. The public written-question sample lets you compare your response with selected marking guidance or a model answer. It does not award an automated grade. Your written answer stays in this page’s memory and is cleared when you leave or switch samples.

Where can I see the price and access details?

Open Pricing to choose a level and subjects. Your total and access date are shown before login and again before checkout.

How do referrals work during the beta?

Refer a friend after you purchase. Your friend gets $10 off their first purchase, and you can get $10 back for each qualifying referral, up to 3 during the beta.

Does this replace school or tutoring?

It is a supplementary study and revision tool. Use it alongside your school learning and any individual support you need. No particular grade is guaranteed.

Is Study Sorted affiliated with NZQA?

No. Study Sorted is an independent educational resource and is not affiliated with or endorsed by NZQA. Always check official assessment requirements with your school and NZQA.
